In 2013, I created Invisible Captivity, a mixed photo and painting project that sheds light on the cultural and religious forces that shape women's lives and identity, particularly in Afghanistan. Through the use of fingerprint-like patterns, I highlighted the verses from religious texts and Hadiths that are often used to justify the violation of women's rights. This work is a powerful reflection of the agency of women and has been a defining moment in my life as an artist.
